Sub Inspector ML Nijlingappa who was deployed at Bengaluru’s Trinity Circle on Saturday is winning hearts on social media and also in his city. Sub Inspector ML Nijlingappa didn’t think twice before allowing an ambulance to pass even as President Pranab Mukherjee’s convoy was expected to drive past the busy junction.
Nijlingappa spotted an ambulance trying to make its a way towards a private hospital near HAL. He immediately passed a message on to his senior officers seeking permission to allow the ambulance ahead of the convoy.
President Shri Pranab Mukherjee was in the city over the weekend for the inauguration of the Green Line of Bengaluru’s Namma Metro.
According to an ANI report, the Bengaluru Police later announced a reward for the policeman for making way for an ambulance during the convoy movement of President Pranab Mukherjee.
On Sunday, Bengaluru police commissioner Praveen Sood tweeted “The policeman who took such initiative to be rewarded. Well done!”

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic East Division, Bengaluru City, Abhei Goyal also took to Twitter to praise Nijalingappa. He tweeted “PSI Sh Nijlingappa is rewarded for deftly allowing the ambulance before the 1st citizen of India.
